How The Lord Saved Me from Physical and Spiritual Death
As a child growing up I had always felt a void. It was an empty black void. Growing up in “different circumstances” I had been taught by one parent that everything that happened bad was because of God. So my perception of God was hate. I had grown up grumbling at Him, hating Him, hating everyone around me and especially hating myself. My thinking became that everything that was happening to me that was bad was because of Him. It seemed as though I were always being “punished” and I couldn’t figure out why.
As a teenager I became promiscuous-had an eating dis-order-drank and did drugs. I tried desperately to fill that void with these things only to be right back where I started-empty, void, black and lonely.

Wow. What a testimony, Beth! Thank you for sharing. I was raised by Christian parents so I don’t know the difficulties that you had that link to that. It must be very hard for anyone to be raised by unbelievers, even if it is just your father. God’s amazing grace is evident in your testimony. You have been through so much. It is always miraculous to me when someone has been through so much and comes out the other side. I know it is sometimes difficult to share our difficult times but for those of us who believe it only shows how God is there when we don’t even know it. I can relate to painful times. I’m sure like me that you will never forget the pain you’ve been in. I’m sure that such memories only help to strengthen your faith as we continue to grow closer to God and understand His love for us even more.
