Sadly satans mo has always been to turn people from following the truth found only in Christ. How many don’t realize it is his sole purpose he was created for to destroy us.
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. (John 10:10).

Good comment Julia. Makes me think of the passage in Matthew 24:23-25
23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
25 Behold, I have told you before.
That’s what satan does, he deceives people.
