Avoid vain babblings and useless information

There are days that pass without any occurrence of contention, but on those days when we are faced with a gossip before us or one who loves to argue its important you keep your peace just as Timothy was instructed to avoid vain babblings! (1 Timothy 6:20-21) O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.

Scripture teaches us a talebearer does not add anything good to our lives as a believer, all they do is cause strife and their words destroy much good (Proverbs 26:20-25) Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out: so where there is no talebearer, the strife ceaseth. As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to kindle strife. The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly. Burning lips and a wicked heart are like a potsherd covered with silver dross. He that hateth dissembleth with his lips, and layeth up deceit within him; When he speaketh fair, believe him not: for there are seven abominations in his heart.

Many may think to gossip about others is harmless, but God does not think this way since His word instructs us it is ungodly and is not of Him. When we take company with such people we are not presenting ourselves as a servant of Christ (2 Timothy 2:15,16) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips. (Proverbs 20:19).

  1. Amen 🙏 We need to guard our hearts and our mouths.
Choosing peace and walking away from gossip honors God every time.

    • I love that you said we need to walk away from a gossip to keep our peace, since some think they have to sit and listen to it.

Have a Blessed Day in the Lord Willie
