My Garden is His

Awake, O north wind; and come, thou south; blow upon my garden, that the spices thereof may flow out. Let my beloved come into His garden, and eat His pleasant fruits.”
Song of Songs 4:16

                                     My Garden is His

The Song of Songs is more than an anointed sonnet. It is a prophetic writing that spans the history and the desire of God with His people. By the illumination of the Spirit, we see the ever-deepening relationship between Christ and His Bride.

  1. Thank you for sharing this post, Julia. I just planted my first tomato seeds of the year yesterday and I’m hoping that eventually my tomatoes look like the ones in this picture.

“Now in the place where He was crucified there was a garden…”

    I love gardens.

It is interesting that “excavations have found evidence of an ancient garden, including soil samples, olive trees, and grapevines, supporting the biblical account of the area.”

I believe there was a garden because the Bible tells me so but it is always interesting when someone finds something like the excavations they have made in Jerusalem just outside of the city walls of that day.

    • I too love hearing of the different excavations that uncover hidden treasures of the past, especially in the Holy land! Where I grew up us kids would uncover many arrowheads and old coins, and I remember the excitement of finding each and every one of them, and those in Jerusalem are keys to our heritage. 🏺⚱️⚒️⛏️

Gardens are life giving filled with such goodness, not to mention they keep you from eating highly processed foods of our day Chris. 🍅🍅🍅

      • Thank you for this thoughtful reply, Julia. How cool it must have been to find old coins and arrowheads! These things were not found in the area where I grew up in Southern California.
My diet in the summertime is probably about 40% tomatoes. I love them. They can be prepared in a number of ways. I’m continuing to learn about different things that are easy to grow in the climate here. Decreasing processed foods in the diet is certainly a good way to go. I use no chemical pesticides and mostly natural fertilizers on all of my plants. God does the rest!

        God’s blessings…
        Chris

      • Ahhh Southern California a state I always wanted to visit. I’m sure it is a great climate for tomatoes! 40% diet of tomatoes is an understatement Chris that you love them. LOL 🙂 They are the best source for lycopene with many health benefits.

      • California was a great place to grow up and you could grow just about anything there. Now, I live in Arkansas and growing tomatoes is a favorite thing to do here if you are gardening. Yes, they are very good for you and I can always use the extra lycopene!
