Believe and do not fear and doubt

To believe and not doubt go hand in hand, just as our Lord told us to do. It is impossible to encompass both to believe and doubt at the same time! Think about it…….. If one believes then you are not doubting and if your doubting then you are not believing. (Mark 11:23,24) For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

There are many times throughout scripture it would have been so easy to doubt as we see Moses with an army behind him and a great body of water in front, and the vast amount of people depending on him to move forward safely from their enemies (Exodus 14:13,14) And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

The three hebrew’s who could of easily doubted when being forced into a fiery furnace chose to believe God was with them! How is it any different for us as human beings as well to allow doubt to weaken our faith. True faith wavers and doubts not when in the face of adversity, as we know God whom we serve has made all things and nothing formed against His people will prosper. (Isaiah 54:17) No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.

To doubt is so easy because it takes less energy to be negative then it does to believe and be positive. Daniel had the Spirit of God within him and it is a Spirit which DISSOLVES DOUBTS! and he was called upon by king Neb-u-chad-nez’-zar to interpret his dream (Daniel 5:12) Forasmuch as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and shewing of hard sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called, and he will shew the interpretation. It is by the empowering Spirit of God did Daniel not doubt that His God would save him when he was cast into the den of the lion’s, unlike all the others who were trusting in a false god!

We can clearly see the strength doubt has in a persons life when Peter set out to walk on the water to the Lord. All was going well until doubt set in. Today the message is still the same as it is scary to give full control to God, yet it is by our faith in Him does He expect to show us He will never leave or forsake us. (Matthew 14:28-32) And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.

Did you catch that end verse 32 how the wind ceased, yet when Peter saw the boisterous wind he was afraid. Such is our life as it whirls out of control until we surrender to the only one who can calm the wind and storm!

Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies. Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty. I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. (Psalm 27:11-14).
