Just as the presence of God’s GLORY would come upon the mountain and speak with Moses of which he feared for it was a terrible sight and would later fill the temple of Solomon,we learn in these last days it is his Holy Spirit dwelling within the Believer that he has built the church of the firstborn. “And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:But ye are come unto mount sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel”.(Hebrews 12:21-24).
“God’s Glory”
No one likes to suffer at all,yet when we turn to Christ we soon learn how it is to suffer for his name’s sake. This is shown to us that we are dying to the ways of the flesh and living by the Spirit.
“Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings;that when his GLORY shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye;for the spirit of GLORY and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified”.(1 Peter 4:12-14).
Glory is the mere presence of God,just as when Solomon built the temple and the presence of God came and filled the house of God. “So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the GLORY of the Lord had filled the house of the Lord”.
(1 Kings 8:11,12).
Solomon later learned that the building of the temple could not encompass the totality of God. “But will God indeed dwell on earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded. Then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou knowest; for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men”.
(1 Kings 8:27,39).
When all is said and done it will be in Eternity that we’ll see the GLORY of Gods presence in heaven in his true temple. “And I saw no temple therein:for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the GLORY of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of Life”(Revelation 21:22,23,27).
