There are many signs and wonders given for guidance and direction in life.Even Jesus was given as a sign to the wise men. “And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, Lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them. Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a SIGN unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger”.(Luke 2:8-12).
Even though God showed many signs among the people of Egypt,yet they did not believe and provoked God more. They continued to rebel and God then appeared among the congregation to speak to Moses. “Only rebel not ye against the Lord. neither fear ye the people of the land: for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the Lord is with us: fear them not. But all the congregation bade stone them with stones. And the glory of the Lord appeared in the tabernacle of the congregation before all the children of Israel. And the Lord said unto Moses, How long will this people provoke me? and how long will it be ere they believe me, for all the SIGNS which I have shewed among them?. Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice”.(Numbers 14:9-11,22).
God’s protection is great over his people when they choose to follow him,for he will stand in their stead no matter what. We are to Fear God and not people for God is above all peoples of the earth! satan made that very mistake when he thought he could rise above even the throne of God and soon learned when he was cast down to hell, to the sides of the pit.(Isaiah 12:12-15).God gives us his promises if we follow him it will go well for us and if we do not then there are consequences. “And the Lord will take away all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee. The great temptations which thine eyes saw, and the SIGNS, and the WONDERS, and the mighty hand, and the stretched out arm, whereby the Lord thy God brought thee out: so shall the Lord thy God do unto all the people of whom thou art afraid”.
(Deuteronomy 7:15,19).
satan has the ability to do lying signs and wonders which is why it’s so important to search the scriptures for the truth of God and know what is of him and what is not!. “Even him, whose coming is after the working of satan with all power and SIGNS and LYING WONDERS, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the Love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie; That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness”.(2 Thessalonians 2:9-12)
Just as Jesus was given as a sign to us,so are we his people given as a sign and wonder through our testamony as well.We are through scripture told of the dangers of believing in mediums and witchcraft or wizards and they are not the works of God,but that we should trust and look only to God for Guidance. “Behold, I and the children whom the Lord hath given me are for SIGNS and for WONDERS in Israel from the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion. And when they shall say unto you, seek unto them that have familiar spirits(Mediums), and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead? To the law and to the testamony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them”.
(Isaiah 8:18-20).

Great post Julia! There is no one higher and mightier than God and His ways are most holy. I hope and pray multitudes of people come to that realization.
