Did you ever look closely at how much the Saviour loves those God has given him. He is actually thanking his Father in heaven for those following him in the book of John. He says no one will ever pluck us out of the Father’s hand and we are his sheep!. “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me; And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and my Father are one. What wonderful news this is to the Believer.
“JESUS LOVES US!”
God is not only the Father of Jesus, But of us as well as he told Mary after his resurrection from the dead that he was about to ascend to his God and to our God and to his Father who is also our Father. We are brothers and sisters in Christ and it is this spiritual family that will abide for all eternity. “Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rab-bo’-ni; which is to say Master. Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God”.(John 20:16,17).
He loves and cares for us deeply and asks that we give him every concern we have in our life, if anyone knows what it’s like to suffer reproach at the hands of their enemy and persecution even from whom he thought were his friends Christ fits the bill of knowing in quiet desperation the feeling of being alone for he truly does care for us. “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you”.(1 Peter 5:6,7). No one is ever alone who comes to know the Saviour who even pleased not himself and suffered the cross, and gives us great hope. “For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me. For whatsoever things were written were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope”. (Romans15:3,4).
For all who call upon the name of the Lord and truly repents is given grace that is undeserved, and a love and peace that passes all human understanding. If that’s not love then what is? …………………………
There is no greater love than His love for us! 🙂
