As a Christian we know that if we believe and serve Christ even eternal life is promised to us as Jesus showed by the calling of Lazarus from the tomb. “Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him”.(John 11:39-45). We see faith in the Lord can even bring us back from the grave that we will not be dead, but gain eternal life!
There are so many ways people have come up with in serving God, but our main focus should be on the one and only way we must follow to get to him which is to live in service to Christ. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. We see that Jesus and God the Father are one and the same and are not two separate beings! Therefore if we are serving Christ we are serving God in spirit and truth as we are asked to do.
When we see God work strong on our behalf, either by an answered prayer or even a miracle it is hard to stay within the realm of the worlds way of solving things and rely more on the miraculous God we serve. We truly can do all things through Christ who strengthens us and the more we rely on God the more he expects of us to serve him by bringing others to the knowledge of Christ.
The world no longer has the power over us it once did! “Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. But now, after that ye have known God , or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggerly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain”.(Galatians 4:8-11).
