This post is dedicated to Catherine Fowler who brought up an excellent question in the comment section and has motivated me to write this post. This question has come up in various ways, but she has worded it the best. God Bless You Catherine for following the truth.
Many feel since God is merciful and loving how could he ever sentence anyone to hell? The answer is not as vague in scripture to answer as one may think. There is right and wrong, good and evil, truth and lying. God pretty much maps out to us all that what our choice is in this life will set the stage to where we spend eternity. The passage the soul that sins it shall die means just that……… The following verses shows us God is very fair and his way is not unequal as man may think! “Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord God: and not that he should return from his ways, and live? But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and commiteth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die. Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal? When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity that he hath done shall he die. Again when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive”.
(Ezekiel 18:23-27). Why would anyone think they could live away from God’s just ways and not be held accountable?
We see God is a very loving and kind God and hopes we will do his will which leads to life and not our own which leads to death. The bible is a road map of how to get to God’s place where our soul can reside in peace for all eternity with a loving God we served while we had our being. In the very beginning in the garden of Eden Adam and Eve were given free will and with the wrong choices made sin enter the world. This upset God so much that he needed to send Adam out of the garden and place angels with a flaming sword so the tree of life would be kept. “And the Lord said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever: Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life”.(Genesis 3:22-24).
Christ was sent to be the avenue God had planned to draw man back to him, by dying on the cross he paid for the redemptive power or man would have died in his sins through following the first Adam. This is why Jesus is known as the second Adam for one brought death and the other a quickening Spirit of hope! “And so it is written, The first Adam was made a living soul; the last was made a quickening spirit. Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven”.(1 Corinthians 15:45-47).
God is so loving he makes it very plain by even listing for those who are not obedient to his way just who will not be in heaven.”He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death”.(Revelation 21:7,8). It is his Holy Spirit that is an overcoming Spirit which helps us through this life and is called the comforter (John 14:26), because of the evil we encounter our Father knew just what we needed if we would follow him.
It is written satan has the WHOLE WORLD deceived and not part of it. “And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him”.(Revelation 12:9). This false doctrine God would never send anyone to hell is slapping God in the face as though he sent his Son here to suffer the cross for no reason at all, then we can live a life of sin and then enter heaven. This is not biblical and satan would love nothing more for someone to believe you can do as you please because God is so loving he would never send anyone to hell. Yes it is true! God is very loving and wants his children to repent from living wrong and follow his Son…..It is our decision not Gods to live wrong! Quit being deceived and believing false doctrine spawned from the pit of the one who’s hoping you’ll continue to believe his great deception!!!!! There are two Fathers in the earth and that is God the Father of Heaven and Earth……and the father of lies. Jesus clearly taught in scripture that there are those who follow his Father and those who follow the father of lies!
(John 8:42-47).
