It is the called, chosen, and faithful who are drawn by God and he often speaks by symbolism as we read of the mother of harlots (A CITY) found in revelation, it soon becomes clear as we read further that water means PEOPLE, MULTITUDES, and NATION’S. “And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues”.(Revelation 17:15). Waters are people and many times in scripture God has drawn his people out of deep waters…(Troubles). So when we read he draws us out of many waters he saves us out from among many!
In the song of David he writes in the Psalms how God had delivered him from the hand of his enemies, and from the hand of Saul and was drawn from many waters. “He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters. He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me. They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the Lord was my stay. He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me”.(Psalm 18:16-19).
Moses was named for no other reason other than he was drawn from the water of the river Nile. “And the child grew, and she brought him unto Phar’-aoh’s daughtr, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water”.(Exodus 2:10).
The Holy Spirit also draws us to God, but Jesus said unless his Father who had sent him to us will hear and learn of him will be drawn by God! “No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets, and they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me. Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life”. (John 6:44-47).
