“The Best Counsellor”

god

We can seek to get good advice in many places and yes some is good, but the only counsel that truly stands forever is the counsel we get from the word of God. Moses had many people who he was chose to guide and direct, and when he became overwhelmed he heeded the sound advice his father in law offered him which was to appoint others who love truth, and were not covetous men and so he did. ” Hearken now unto my voice, I will give thee counsel, and God shall be with thee: Be thou for the people to God-ward, that thou mayest bring the causes unto God: And thou shalt teach them ordinances and laws, and shalt shew them the way therein they must walk, and the work that they must do. Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness, and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens: And let them judge the people at all seasons: and it shall be, that every great matter they shall bring unto thee, but every small matter they shall judge: so shall it be easier for thyself, and they shall bear the burden with thee”.(Exodus 18:19-22).

The best counsel any of us could ever have is found in the just ways of God, Jesus was sent to guide us back to God our Father. He will one day establish his throne and kingdom by the justice the world now argues over, yet will one day be the only rule of men’s hearts! (Isaiah 9:6,7).

When we meditate upon the word we find peace and knowledge for our soul’s, and many times we find solutions for many of our troubles. If we search and look only to man for our help, we may come up empty handed in a dyer time of need, as God is always and immediately with us. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble”.(Psalm 46:1).

Just as sheep need a shepherd for to help them be guided, we as well need the counsel of the maker of the one who made us and knows what’s best. If we are in the presence of sound advice we fare well, and without people will fall. “Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety”.(Psalm 11:14). The Holy Spirit was with Jesus and we as well have the same Spirit from above when we repent and turn to Christ! This is he best counsellor of all…………..(Isaiah 11:1-4).
