As ministers of God upon this earth we are very well equipped to handle all we go through while we are here. To truly take up your cross daily leads one into trials only Christ understands and never forsakes us through it, but it is by taking the sword of truth (word of God) and Gods power we are overcomers. (2 Corinthians 6:4-10). But in all things approving ourselves as the ministers of God, in much patience, in afflictions, in necessities, in distresses, In stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labours, in watchings, in fastings; By pureness, by knowledge, by long suffering, by kindness, by the Holy Ghost, by love unfeigned, By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true;As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed; As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.
Christians are thought to be walking in the flesh, but this is so far from the truth as our outward appearance does not match the Spirit that dwells within us. It is weapons not carnal that we are equipped with as the sword we use is not visible to the enemy of our souls which will pull down anything that is disobedient to the truth and knowledge we follow! (2 Corinthians 10:3-5) For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; …..((Ephesians 6:10-17).
People feel war has nothing to do with God, but it would not be mentioned in scripture 226 times if war were not present in life. This is no different then those who do not believe that hell exists, but that does not take it from being mentioned 54 times.
There is a time of war and a time of peace in this life and we have all we need when we make Christ the center of it all! (Ecclesiastes 3:8)…..It is God who teaches our hands to war. (Psalm 18:34). He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.
