The promise of the Holy Spirit was made possible by believing when hearing the word of the truth of God, and we are then sealed until the day of redemption. (Ephesians 1:11-14). In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
What a miraculous promise Abraham was given who was then about one hundred years old by faith believed the promise God gave him that he would become the father of many nations! (Romans 4:16-22). Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.
There is no way we could ever praise and thank God enough for all of HIS promises made to us, and we can be assured HE is faithful to keep each and every one of them through HIS Son our Saviour Jesus Christ! (Hebrews 10:21-23). And having an high priest over the house of God; Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
People come and go throughout our lives and it is good to know that whatever knowledge we gain of God while we have our being will keep us in this life and the one to come for all eternity……………..
