Does God have a heart and soul?

Although God is a spirit that is omnipresent in the earth, some think He has no soul or heart. The one who created us most certainly does, and it is out of a heart of love did He send us His only Son to be out saviour and salvation. We find the answer in the book of Jeremiah that God truly does have both a heart and soul!(Jeremiah 32:37-41). 37 Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, whither I have driven them in mine anger, and in my fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely:38 And they shall be my people, and I will be their God:39 And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them:40 And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.41 Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul.

In the very beginning we learn the breath of God gave life to man and he became a living soul(Genesis 2:7).It is the life giving spirit that sustains our life, and we know the spirit of God is life giving by reading the story of the widow whose son had died and Elijah prayed unto the Lord God to let the childs soul return again unto him and God did!(1 Kings 17:17-24). 17 And it came to pass after these things, that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that there was no breath left in him.18 And she said unto Elijah, What have I to do with thee, O thou man of God? art thou come unto me to call my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son?19 And he said unto her, Give me thy son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into a loft, where he abode, and laid him upon his own bed.20 And he cried unto the Lord, and said, O Lord my God, hast thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?21 And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto the Lord, and said, O Lord my God, I pray thee, let this child’s soul come into him again.22 And the Lord heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.23 And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah said, See, thy son liveth.24 And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou art a man of God, and that the word of the Lord in thy mouth is truth.
