The Cares of This Life

Keeping our focus on Christ

As christians we have the hope of the day when our Lord will return once again, but until then we must keep our sights on things above and not let our surroundings be a snare to our souls (Luke 21:33-36). 33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. 34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. 35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Sometimes we become overwhelmed in our life and are overtaken by all that surrounds us. It is at these times we must focus on the Lord who has overcome the world and always He never walked alone. He knew this life was not all there is,but that an eternal one awaits! (John 16:32,33).

We are instructed to be careful for nothing and to tend to prayer and supplications unto the Lord. He knows what we need even if we don’t. We are to cast our cares on Him for He truly cares for us (Philippians 4:6-8).6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
