The testimony

Before we came to the knowledge of Christ our way was as the way of the heathen. Scripture makes it easy for us to understand how our life looked before we were justified and washed by the blood of the Lamb. When we accept Christ and believe we have the hope of eternal life and a testimony of how we came to know the one who saved our soul from the power of death. (1 Corinthians 6:9-11). 9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

We see the pure love of Jesus when we read of the testimony of Paul while he was on the road to Damascus. Paul knew just how far from God he had come after experiencing Gods grace, and even called himself the chief of sinners.(1 Timothy 1:12-16). Paul was told that although he had been delivered from the gentiles (heathen) he was to then return to open their eyes and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of satan! (Acts 26:9-18).

As christians we all have a testimony of how God stepped into our life at our darkest moment. It is the power of our testimony that encourages and strengthens the life of others. The holy spirit testifies that Jesus lives in the heart of all who believe! “The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy”. (Revelation 19:9-13).

Psalm 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
