When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained; What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet(Psalm 8:3-6).
From the very beginning God has interacted with man. We see it first in the garden of eden where the voice of God speaks to Adam and Eve (Genesis 3:8-11) 8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. 9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? 10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. 11And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
The second time we see God conversing with man is when Cain killed his brother Abel and God questions him (Genesis 4:8-10).
When Nimrod built the tower of babel God didn’t just look down from heaven He actually came down and confounded their language and scattered them!(Genesis 11:4-9).
To this day our Father in heaven still sees and hears us as in the days of old. He spoke from heaven when Jesus was baptized by John (Mark 1:9-11). And He says to us today if we will hear His voice not to harden our heart (Hebrews 3:7-12).
His still small voice speaks to our hearts today….are you taking the time to listen?
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. (Revelation 3:20-22).
