In the wilderness

In the chaos of the world that whirls around us God is found in the quite still moment’s of our life,if we only take the time to seek Him (Psalm 46:10) 10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

There is a great lesson we can learn when the Israelites ventured through the wilderness for forty years, and even though many complained there were many blessings and miracles to be found! Their clothes and shoes never wore out, and in a place where food would be hard to come by God gave them angel’s food from heaven called manna. ( Numbers 11:7) And the manna was as coriander seed, and the colour thereof as the colour of bdellium (Psalm 78:24,25).

When was the last time you had clothes and shoes for forty years that did not wear out? Or have food to eat that you did not buy or grow? What a miraculous God we serve!(Deuteronomy 29:2-6).

And so it is in our wilderness walk today that we learn we are never alone, and the same God who guided Moses and the Israelites so many generations ago still guides His people who put their faith in Him. We may be perceived as an odd person out, but that never stopped our Lord from following His Fathers will nor will it stop us as His follower’s!(Luke 9:59-62) 59 And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father. 60 Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God. 61 And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.62 And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

Fitting into the worlds mold is not the driving force of the true believer in Christ. It is that which the world does not perceive that God sees through His spirit hidden within a person (1 Peter 3:4) 4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
