The spirit of God has always been, even before the earth was formed!(Genesis 1:2). The spirit of man is to do his own will, while the holy spirit of God enables us to be guided, directed and led by the will of God. When we sincerely repent of our sin and turn unto the Lord we then receive the holy spirit (Acts 2:38).
The holy spirit is one of promise, revelation and wisdom, and when we receive of this precious gift we become a new creature in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17,18).
The longer we are guided by the holy spirit we come to realize how important it is to be in Christ and not of the world, Jesus has even prayed to the Father for us as He knew we are not of the world and it’s way (John 17:13-22) 13 And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. 14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. 19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. 20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; 21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. 22 And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even a s we are one: 23 I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
This world is set for destruction and as we look around today with all the riot’s, the shedding of innocent blood by abortion and the LGBTQ agenda are we being guided by the holy spirit? As Jesus said will He find faith when He returns? (2 Peter 3:9-14). 9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
