The apostle Paul who persecuted the church greatly learned first hand of the saving grace of the Saviour by a vision which stopped him dead in his tracks and was changed forever by a visit from the Lord Jesus Christ! He was made a minister and became a great witness just as those today who turn to the Lord by the faith they place in him. “And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by Faith that is in me”.(Acts 26:15-18).
Before we come to the knowledge of the truth it is written other lords were over us and we served the gods of the people that surrounded us,but the truth is only found in the Lord Jesus Christ and we have found ordained peace within him. “Lord, thou wilt ordain peace for us: for thou also hast wrought all our works in us. O Lord our God, other lords beside thee have had dominion over us: but by thee only will we make mention of thy name”.(Isaiah 26:12,13).
We are through the Holy Spirit ordained of God to speak the truth of his word and to make full proof of our ministry. “I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry”.(2 Timothy 4:1,2,5).
Jesus was the first to obtain the ministry of Faith, and we are to follow suit within the Body Of Christ to be a minister to teach to the nations as being led by the Holy Spirit for we are ordained to do such a work. “You have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. These things I commanded you, that ye love one another. If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you”.(John 15:16-19).
We are to shine the light of Christ’s knowledge where ever we go, and make sure our lamps are always full of oil. “I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy. There will I make the horn of David to bud: I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed. his enemies will I clothe with shame: but upon himself shall his crown flourish”.(Psalm 132:16-18). When people do not understand the change within you that God has made,we are not to try and persuade them just continue to go about our Fathers business,as Paul said: “For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by revelation of Jesus Christ”.(Galatians 1:10-12).
