So many times we burn the candle at both ends leaving us as an empty glass that can pour nothing from it. The joy of the Lord is our strength and when our energy runs low the Lord sustains us if we make sure to partake of the bread of life, and fountain of living waters!(John 6:35) 35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. (Revelation 21:6).
God is the only one who can keep our life and at times we think it is us who does, But Jesus said it best: “Without Him we can do nothing” (John 15:4-8) 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. :5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. 8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.
So the next time your running on empty and you are too overwhelmed, remember there is one who sticks closer than a brother just waiting to gather you unto Himself!(Psalm 61:1-4) 1 Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. 2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. 3 For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. 4 I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.
