When To Shake The Dust Off Your Feet

How many of us have repeatedly tried at great lengths to remedy a situation only to be slammed again another way? In our spirit as a Christian we feel no matter what we are to forgive…… and this is true, But we can forgive in our heart and move on from a bad situation. Scripture tells us when we are suppose to shake the dust off our feet and move on! Jesus gives us sound words of advice.(Mark 6:10,11) “And he said unto them, In what place soever ye enter into an house, there abide till ye depart from that place. And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you,  it shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgement, than for that city”.(Matthew 10:11-15).

One of satans prime moves in the life of the believer is to lay a guilt trip , and we need to know of this tactic he uses to destroy the belief system we study the scripture’s to be strong on behalf of the Lord! He already knows he has the life of the sinful, but his main purpose is to take away any hope a person has and to magnify himself as though he is all powerful. We see this in people who run in groups, or one who is head of a slew of people to carry out evil as a kingpin of an organization…..Remember Hitler and Stalin who were one person and head of many! God knows those who are his and he knows who he can count on here on earth to carry out his will. “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity”.(2 Timothy 2:19).

Paul and Barnabas were not unaware of the way people would ban together to persecute them and they too knew exactly when to shake the dust off their feet and move on to another city where they knew there would be people there searching for the truth which they were called to deliver just as we  do today. “For so hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to be a light of the Gentiles, that thou shouldest be for salvation unto the ends of the earth. And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed. And the word of the Lord was published throughout all the region. But the Jews stirred up the devout and honourable women, and the chief men of the city, and raised persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them out of their coasts. But they shook off the dust of their feet against them, and came unto I-co’-ni-um. And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost”.(Acts 13:47-52).

If you always try your best to do what is right, God will be forever by your side and you will know he did not create you to be a door mat to anyone, but a messenger of his word! It is vital we learn when to shake the dust off our feet  and give the rest to God! “Thus saith thy Lord the Lord, and thy God that pleadeth the cause of his people, Behold, I have taken out of thine hand the cup of trembling, even the dregs of the cup of my fury; thou shalt no more drink it again. But I will put it into the hand of them that afflict thee, which have said to thy soul, Bow down, that we may go over: and thou hast laid thy body as the ground, and as the street, to them that went over”.(Isaiah 51:22,23).

  1. Good mornin to you miss Julia.

Every Christian is an evangelist at heart, which is why it’s so depressing to realize that regarding a person who you’ve been witnessing to, that all you’re doing is watering dead grass.

This has been the case with some of my relatives. People who are blinded to the truth, while thinking themselves to be Christian, and professing to be Christian.
Relatives who have spoken the most vulgar cuss words against me when speaking to me in response to my faith that I’ve presented to them.

It’s just the way it is.
    😥

So press in to the risen Lord Jesus Christ 🙏

And do as I do miss Julia…

Personally celebrate that God has made you to be a…

    FULLY FORGIVEN

    FULLY SANCTIFIED SAINT

WHO’S FULLY THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD.

I’ve found that rejoicing in that truth every day, always overrides whatever sorrow gets slung at me.

    “You think I’m a #<^&^÷@"

Who cares, I'm the righteousness of God!

Thank you Jesus Christ for being my righteousness and sanctification!!!

    Happy day, happy day!"

    😀👍😇

      • Hi miss Julia,

I just wanted you to know that this particular post of yours was a motivator for a video that I just now made.
It’s uploading to YouTube right now, and when it’s uploaded, I’ll post it here on WordPress.
It’s called “the bulletproof Christian,” and I hope that it blesses you as you deal with difficult people.

May the risen Lord Jesus Christ continue to teach us in all things.

      • Thank You Lee I will do my best to load and watch this video here out in the boonies. Sounds like a good one. So happy you were motivated to post. Blessings.
        Julia
