The worthy life

The resurrection of our Lord and saviour gives us a hope of eternal life no other can give to us. So much was accomplished at the cross of calvery that we could never praise and thank Our Lord enough for taking the place that all of us deserve to be on the cross for, yet He laid down His life for so many to be our redemption and salvation!

This life is not about us, it is about the one who gave His life so that we may live through Him and one day we will rise through His spirit to an eternal home He has prepared for us (John 14:1-4) 1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. 4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

By turning from the sin we are reconciled unto Christ, and are no longer destined to die but live in eternity as Jesus taught us in the gospel of John. One day all graves will be opened and there will be those who have done good unto the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil unto the resurrection of the damned! (John 5:24-29).  Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

As christians we gladly suffer for Christs’ sake, and although those of the world do not understand why any one would do such a thing, it is through faith in Christ we endure and live and have our being. God is worthy to be praised and those who have previously lived before us lived by the same faith we now live! (Hebrews 11:33-40) 33 Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,34 Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. 35 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: 36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: 37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; 38 (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. 39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

God alone makes us worthy in this life, as the world does not give us the peace and purpose God does (Matthew 10:13,14) 13 And if the house be worthy, let your peace come upon it: but if it be not worthy, let your peace return to you. 14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.

Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.
