To believe and not doubt go hand in hand, just as our Lord told us to do. It is impossible to encompass both to believe and doubt at the same time! Think about it…….. If one believes then you are not doubting and if your doubting then you are not believing. (Mark 11:23,24). For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
There are many times throughout scripture it would have been so easy to doubt as we see Moses with an army behind him and a great body of water in front of him, yet he said watch the mighty hand of God move…… Or the three hebrew’s who could of easily doubted when being forced into a fiery furnace, but believed God was with them! How is it any different for us as human beings as well to allow doubt to weaken our faith. True faith wavers (doubts not) when in the face of adversity, as we know God whom we serve has made all things and nothing formed against his people will prosper. (Isaiah 54:17) No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord..(James 1:5,6) If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
To doubt is so easy because it takes less energy to be negative then it does to believe and be positive. Daniel had the Spirit of God within him and it is a Spirit which DISSOLVES DOUBTS! and he was called upon by king Neb-u-chad-nez’-zar to interpret his dream. (Daniel 5:12). Forasmuch as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and shewing of hard sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called, and he will shew the interpretation. It is by the empowering Spirit of God did Daniel not doubt that His God would save him when he was cast into the den of the lion’s, unlike all the others who were trusting in a false god!
