When God is not in our midst and when there is envying and strife there is then confusion among the people. If we have Gods true wisdom there is peace! (James 3:16-18) 16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. 17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. 18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
In Psalm 35 David pleads with the Lord to let those who persecute and seek his soul to be brought to confusion for wanting to hurt him (Psalm 35:1-9) 1 A Psalm of David. Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me. 2 Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help. 3 Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation. 4 Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt. 5 Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the LORD chase them. 6 Let their way be dark and slippery: and let the angel of the LORD persecute them. 7 For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which without cause they have digged for my soul. 8 Let destruction come upon him at unawares; and let his net that he hath hid catch himself: into that very destruction let him fall. 9 And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in his salvation.
Paul who was strong in the Lord did not hesitate to tell De-me’-tri-us the silversmith who made silver shrines for the goddess Diana that his work was against God. The people of Ephesus were enraged with confusion for the god they served was put in jeopardy who they trusted in! (Acts 19:21-32),(Psalm 97:7) 7 Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods.
The word confirms that those who worship and make idols shall be ashamed and confused (Isaiah 45:16,17) 16 They shall be ashamed, and also confounded, all of them: they shall go to confusion together that are makers of idols. 17 But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.
For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. (1 Corinthians 14:33).
