God is willing to reason with us

Man has been given free will to make the choice that decides where eternity will be spent in either heaven or hell. God is always willing to reason with us if we make the choice to to do His will and not our own. All he asks for us to do is to turn from evil and do what is right, but do we? (Isaiah 1:16-20)Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land. But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

God alone is the only one who can blot out our sins, and He wants us to remind Him so that He can reason with us about a matter and this really shows us just how kind and loving He truly is! (Isaiah 43:25,26) I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins. Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.

Not only is God willing to reason with us He at times will give us options so we can decide what is best for our situation, as seen in the story of David when he numbered Israel and it angered God. We see God give David three options to pick from. The first was three years famine, three months to be destroyed before his foes or three days the sword of the Lord along with the pestilence would God destroy the coasts of Israel. David made the decision to fall into the hand of the Lord and not into the hand of man, for he knew God was a merciful God. The Lord then chose to send pestilence and seventy thousand men fell (1 Chronicles 21:8-14).

So we must ask ourselves why would we continue to choose sin when we have a God who is willing to reason with us so that we may make the right decision?
