But…..They Who Endure

ENDURE – To remain firm under suffering or misfortune without yielding, To withstand adversity, Durable and lasting, Going through a hardship.

Our Lord knew all too well what it felt like to endure all He was sent here to go through. You would think that for all Christ stood for He would have had many friends, yet He had to endure and be rejected even of His own. (John 1:10-14) He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Just like Paul in front of Agrippa when he gave his testimony of what happened to him on the road to Damascus was told he was crazy or beside himself, and we too will endure the same when telling our testimony of meeting Christ, and we suffer gladly for the one who gave His life for us! (Acts 26:24-29) And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad. But he said, I am not mad, most noble Festus; but speak forth the words of truth and soberness. For the king knoweth of these things, before whom also I speak freely: for I am persuaded that none of these things are hidden from him; for this thing was not done in a corner. King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest. Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian. And Paul said, I would to God, that not only thou, but also all that hear me this day, were both almost, and altogether such as I am, except these bonds

As a Christian we will be thought of as different and there is no shame in bearing a message the world will not accept, Jesus at times was not believed, but this does not change that no matter what we face we will preach the gospel so others will know the price that was paid for their redemption. (1 Peter 3:15-17)  But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.

  1. Good message Julia. Thank you.

This is a clear reminder that real Christians will suffer persecution for doing the will of God. And if anyone may be wondering, there is no possible better thing to do with one’s life than His will. Full obedience to the Lord Jesus is the mark of the true disciple. It shows our 100% love for Him. It reveals a full heart commitment. Doing His will in our lives brings great honor to the Lord and also allows for the greatest spiritual fruitfulness and effectiveness. It is impossible to be the witnesses He called us to be otherwise.

Our Lord is obviously the greatest human being who ever lived and is also God Himself. He did nothing but good and illustrated that God is a faithful and loving Creator and Father. He gave everything He had for us. The way this world treated Him is a clear indication of what kind of world this is and what all real Christians are up against. But we will win because He has won.

Good always overcomes evil. Love always defeats hate. Hate and evil threw everything it had at Him and even killed Him but HE ROSE AGAIN FROM THE DEAD. The Lord Jesus can simply NEVER be defeated. But to show His heart, His true humble nature, and His willingness to give it His all, He became last in all things. He willingly became the lowest of the low. He suffered every indignity and injustice undeservedly.

Then, as a result of being last in all things, he vaulted to the very top and became FIRST in all things. He is now first forever. And because He lives for and within His children, His Community of followers will always survive and thrive. The gates of hell will never prevail against His Church. Each of us has our part in the war effort.

And after winning the war, whatever part of the spiritual war it may be in this temporary life for each of us, and fulfilling His will in our lives, ETERNAL LIFE awaits.

“Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.” (James 1:12)

    Blessings to you!
