With All Boldness……. Speak the Word

When the man who was lame from birth was told in the name of Jesus of Nazareth to rise up and walk and he did the people more than took notice, but what also amazed them was that these powerful bold words were spoken by what was considered unlearned and ignorant men. It is by the power of the Holy Spirit do the people of God speak! (Acts 3:2,6,…4:10-13).  And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;  Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.  Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

Even as we experience within our own families when born again others are offended when we speak the word of God, Jesus also was not accepted of His own as well (Matthew 13:54-58). Paul, Sil-va’-nus and Ti-moth’-e-us preached boldly as they were trusted with the gospel and knew their words would not be pleasing to men, but to God who tried their hearts. (1 Thessalonians 2:1-4).  For yourselves, brethren, know our entrance in unto you, that it was not in vain: But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention. For our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile: But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.

When Paul and Barnabas were at Iconium the people were divided, but this did not hinder them from speaking the word boldly! (Acts 14:1-7) And it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake, that a great multitude both of the Jews and also of the Greeks believed. But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren. Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands. But the multitude of the city was divided: and part held with the Jews, and part with the apostles. And when there was an assault made both of the Gentiles, and also of the Jews with their rulers, to use them despitefully, and to stone them, They were ware of it, and fled unto Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and unto the region that lieth round about: And there they preached the gospel.
