The wicked are puffed up in pride and they are not plagued as others are, yet they slap God in the face as though he has no knowledge of their evil deeds they perform. (Psalm 73:3-6 ,11) For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm. They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men. Therefore pride compasseth them about them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment. And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most high?.
There are no coincidences with God and everything truly does happen for a reason in this life. The very first plague ever written of in scripture is when Phar’-oah was lied to about Abram’s wife Sar’-a-i. (Genesis 12:17) And the Lord plagued Phar’-aoh and his house with great plagues because of Sar’-a-i Abram’s wife. We see it was not just Phar’-oah, but his whole house as well was plagued. This brings to mind the scripture…… As for me and my house we will serve the Lord!
Many know of the ten plagues of egypt that befell Phar’-oah when he would not let Gods people go, and God to this day has not removed plagues out of the earth. Remember the black plague, the bird flu plague, and our most recent Covid 19. Plagues come to us in many ways and are not seen just in diseases, but a plague of depression, or one may say I am plagued with many things it seems……when this happens it’s never too late to repent and turn to our heavenly Father as he is a merciful God and things oftentimes will change when we are within his will. (Isaiah 1:18).
We have many translations of the bible today and God sincerely wants us to keep it in the context it was written and meant for man’s well being, yet sometimes words are added to or taken from the word and scripture teaches that God does not look too kindly on this as he says the following: (Revelation 22:18,19) For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
As Christians we are told Christ did not follow the worlds ways as his people do not as well, and we are not to be partakers of the worlds sins or plagues will ensue. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.(Revelation 18:4).
