Hid In Him

To the redeemed soul nothing compares to the joy found in knowing the Lord, and even though our old sinful nature is perished (Forgiven) we have set our sights on things above and our life is now hid in Christ (Colossians 3:1-4) If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

We come to learn the world and all it offers will never give us the peace found only in our Saviour, therefore we find our joy in Him! (Isaiah 63:7,8) I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the Lord, and the praises of the Lord, according to all that the Lord hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses. For he said, Surely they are my people, children that will not lie: so he was their Saviour.

When we hide the word of God within our hearts, it helps us from sinning against the Lord. (Psalm 119:10-14) With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes. With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth. I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.

We are told that God is not so far away he cannot hear or see us, and anyone who claims to hold the faith of being a Christian is expected to proclaim the word of the Lord they serve, and to help others turn from their evil ways, for no one can hide themselves from God! (Jeremiah 23:22-24).  But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings. Am I a God at hand, saith the Lord, and not a God afar off? Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the Lord.

In the whole earth the only place of safety and solitude for our soul can be found by being hid in the Lord who alone is our protector from all storms of this life! (Psalm 32:5-7) I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah. For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him. Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah.
