The Stranger and Pilgrims Soul

Our soul’s long for a place to belong and sure the world has many ways to fit into it,but a soul set on God will never fit into a world of wickedness. The soul of the Believer is ever restless as it waits to return unto the God that made it. (Ecclesiastes 12:7). Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the Spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

It is through Faith we live for the promise of the Heavenly City God has prepared for those who believed on Him, with the Hope of living with him in Eternity! (Hebrews 11:13-16) These all died in Faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off,and were persuaded of them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly,if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country, that is,an Heavenly:wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God:for he hath prepared for them a City.

Just as our hearts are set on serving God we see Davids Prayer is just as we too believe today (1 Chronicles 29:15-18) For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners,as were all our fathers:our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is none abiding. O Lord our God,all this store that we have prepared to build thee an house for thine holy name cometh of thine hand, and is all thine own. I know also,my God,that thou triest the heart, and hast pleasure in uprightness. As for me,in the uprightness of mine heart I have willingly offered all these things:and now have I seen with Joy thy people, which are present here,to offer willingly unto thee. O Lord God of Abraham,Isaac, and of Israel(Jacob=Renamed Israel…… Genesis 32:28),our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their heart unto thee.

Our soul will not be at rest until the day we return to our eternal home! We will remain as a stranger and pilgrim in a strange land.    My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the Living God.(Psalm 84:2).

  2. Faith and movement… Faith is not static nor can the heart of those in whom faith dwells in be either…

I love the sacred thread which runs through those who know of this journey. A common bond binds us to the Life of Him and more importantly through the Life of Him.

    Blessings to both of you!

    • How beautiful are your words! “the sacred thread which runs through those who know of this journey.” Stay strong in your walk with the Lord.

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! (Psalm 133:1).
