How many people say they have a strong faith, but when tragedy hits they crumble. There are so many stories of courage written about in the bible that we too can gain strength by reading what God has done for others.
Joshua and Caleb were mere men who were instructed by Moses to search out the land of ca’-na-an to see whether the people there were strong or weak, few or many? They returned with a good report that they should go and possess it.But the other men who went with them had a completely different report and said there were giants and the people were stronger than them!
Just like today one sees defeat while another sees victory. The difference was Joshua and Caleb had an undying faith in the Lord they served.(Numbers 14:7-9).7 And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an exceeding good land.8 If the Lord delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.9 Only rebel not ye against the Lord, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the Lord is with us: fear them not.
Alot of people know the passage “If God be for us who can be against us”.This tells us we are not alone and of a greater number in the Lord than without Him.
Could we be just as courageous as Sha’-drach,Me’-shach,and Abed-nego when faced with being thrown into a fiery furnace? They were confident God would protect them and we truly see their courage when they stayed faithful by saying even if they were no delivered they would not serve King Neb-u-chad-nez’s God ot worship his golden image!(Daniel 3:13-18). Then Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Then they brought these men before the king. Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up? Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands? Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies. Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty. I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD (Psalm 27:11-14).
Today we live in confusing times due to the pandemic and convulsed by wars and the threat of these in several countries. Therefore we can be skeptical of believing in God. Thus, to have faith in God is to believe in his existence, his omnipotence, omnipresence, and omniscience; it is also believing in his Word and the teachings of Jesus Christ, transmitted through the Bible. Very good your article that gives to make a reflection in these moments of great uncertainty. Greetings

Thank you very much Julia for your good wishes. Amen
Amen! Courage is not the absence of fear, but the strength to endure in the midst of it. Our trust in the Lord is measured best when hard trials or tragedy strikes!
But the trials and testings are ESSENTIAL to our growth! If we never are tested and stretched, we will never grow!
So True. Be Blessed Always.
Julia
You as well!!!

Courage is the offspring of faith. The faith of all of us will be sifted and in the midst of it all so will His amazing keeping power… “We who are kept by the power of God…”
Blessings

I like to think I have courage and will not cave when faced with my own fiery furnace. With God’s help, we will be strong and persevere.
