Children Of Darkness will be Overtaken……………………

 Our Lord is the light of the world and those who do not walk with Him live in darkness. Scripture tells us there are two fathers in the earth…. God the Father who made heaven and earth, and then there is the father of lies and deception known as satan. Jesus forewarned us to be sober and to watch prayerfully for His return. (1 Peter 4:7). For those who are not watching He will come as a thief in the night. (Matthew 24:42-44).  Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

 The return of the Lord may seem as a fearful day to behold, but God knows those who are His and His people are those who are children of light and not darkness. He reassures us we will not be overtaken as a thief. (1 Thessalonians 5:1-9). But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

 It is written God is a consuming fire and is to be reverenced although the wicked do not take it to heart, therefore He will cause sudden destruction upon the wicked, but those who love and do His will He says not to fear for He dwells in us and we in Him dear children! (Proverbs 3:24-26).  When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet. Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.

 The trying of our faith will not falter when we solely rely on the one who has promised He loves and cares for us! We can walk through this life knowing we are never alone, and will not be overtaken as a thief in the night.
