The mindset of man can either set him up for success or for failure. There are those who cling to memories of the past and their forever thinking of what could have been. Then there are people who are always looking towards the future and what could be. Scripture teaches us though we really only have now! (Ecclesiastes 3:15). That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.
The song everything old is new again coincides with what we experience every decade or so, like a fashion comes back and it seems new….. Yet what has already been is just new again at the time, as there is nothing new under the sun. We all at one time or another experience the same or similar situations. (Ecclesiastes 9:11). I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.
We are not promised tomorrow and too many live as though they have forever. I understand many are living in chronic pain and would say how can one find happiness then? Job suffered so much loss with family, health and friends always trying to give advice, but he understood whatever hand he was dealt he would one day live eternally with God the Father. Paul understood the importance of having faith in the Lord and although it is very hard to endure and suffer various tribulations we must live in the now and endure, for scripture teaches us it is for our glory (Ephesians 3:8-13) Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.
God Bless and keep all who are enduring for the day for life is not easy at times, but if God be for us then who can be against us. Gods glory is on the horizon, so live as though He is returning today!
Glory to God! He has given us abundant life for today! He gives us grace for this new day. I rejoice in him! Thank you, Julia!
Amen! I agree wholeheartedly. Many Blessings.
Julia
