Many of us can say that it is at the darkest times when God seems to shine in our life and make His presence known, for in our weakness we are made strong! (2 Corinthians 12:9,10). And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.
We see the kindness of our Lorde see the kindness of our Lord when He tells Peter satan wanted to sift him as wheat, and then lovingly tells Peter He had prayed for him so his faith would not falter. We are given hope by this story as we see Peter is then able to strengthen his brethren after a trial. (Luke 22:31,32). And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.
It is not by our own strength do we live this life, it is by the power of God by His Spirit! ( Isaiah 41:10-13) Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish. Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
.Not only do we need to be strengthened by God, but we see even our Lord had an angel that was sent to strengthen Him at his most sorrowful time, at the trial of His crucifixion. (Luke 22:39-46). And he came out, and went, as he was wont, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him. And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation. And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. And when he rose up from prayer, and was come to his disciples, he found them sleeping for sorrow,And said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.
Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD. (Psalm 27:14).
He is our backbone
