Because God is the Word, we cannot know Him if we do not know His words about Him being the Word. We find these words in the written word of God. The “word” found in John 1 is “Logos” in the Greek. It means “the plan,” basically. Everything in God’s far reaching excellent Plan is encapsulated in the word “word.”
God makes a big thing out of his word. “Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word of God.” His word is our life. Many scriptures come to mind about the word. “In the beginning was the word.” Since Christ is the beginning [“I am the beginning and the end”]. In Him was the word/logos or the plan. Since Christ is the beginning, then in Him was the word/logos/plan. Christ is the “Word made flesh” that dwelt among us.

Yes and amen! Blessings of the Word being with you, Julia!
Good point. Most Christians don’t even read the bible. I don’t understand that. I get so much out of it every time I read it and I do feel like it helps me know God better.
I had to smile Mary as I read your comment. When I hear people say most christians don’t even read the bible, I always say because they are NOT christians. Afterall how can one say they are a christian without the written word within them…. they can’t.
(1 John 3:17,18) I say this because if God is within we automatically do His will. The following passage confirms one can say they are christian yet deny His way………. (1 John 3:17,18) But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
Strength and Many Blessings.
Julia
Another thing is that if you’re not reading the bible, you can easily be led astray by lies. Anyone who is able to read the bible, should. My dad devoured God’s word. He read it all the time. My Mom never did because she couldn’t understand it, but they both had an amazing faith. I believe they’re both in heaven. Reading the bible isn’t a requirement for salvation, but if you’re able to, you should. That’s what God wants us to do and we should want to do it too.
Exactly! The word burns as a fire within, that we are moved to share with others. Blessings.

The word is one fire we don’t want to put out!
Amen Dear Sister! Stay Strong.
