Life In The Son Of God

we live our life and die, then that is all there is. The sadducees did not believe in life after death either and that Jesus was the resurrection and the life and light of man. Paul knew of the power of Christ’s resurrection and that any gain he had was really a loss for Christ! (Philippians 3:7-11). But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

When we put off the old way of life with sin weaved through it, we realize we now live through the Son of God who alone is our life!(Colossians 3:1-4) If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

It may seem severe to say the wrath of God is on those who do not believe on the Son of God, but scripture teaches us just that. Oh how much mercy can be found in God as He has given us life through His Son, yet many still turn from it. (John 3:35-36)  The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

As a christian we know our life is not lived by the flesh any longer as we once did, but is now lived through Christ (Galatians 2:20,21) I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

  1. “He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life”

Eternal Life is bound up in the Son not as a one time event but a life lived in our growing into the joy of abiding in Him who is the Life…
