So much in this life can draw us away from what is most important. Drugs, alcohol, or worldly wealth can distance us from the love of God and the peace found only in Him. Life is hard, but a life whose foundation is in Christ will whether much better. We stay stronger by seeking His knowledge and if we seek the kingdom of God first then all we deem as important such as food, clothes and drink will be given us! (Matthew 6:31-34). Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Life is short even if we live to be one hundred and our purpose for life will endure the test of time if we do Gods will. So long ago God has given us His commandments and the sound advice of His holy word that not only carries us through this life but also the one to come! (Ephesians 1:19-23). And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
We are to conduct our lives so others will see Christ in us, and when reproach and persecution comes (and it will) remember His Spirit rests upon you and He is glorified on your part. (1 Peter 4:12-16). Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters. Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.
As we live this life we have an enemy of our soul, but our Lord is stronger than our enemy and has come so that we may live a more abundant life! (John 10:7-10) Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep. All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
