There is a light that shines brightly within all that are in the Lord, for He is the light of the world and His knowledge keeps the hearts and minds of all who believe and follow Him! (John 8:12) Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
The Holy Spirit is a teacher of spiritual things of God, it is not a Spirit of the world but an eternal Spirit which shines the light of knowledge within a believer. 1 Corinthians 2:9-13) But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
Scripture teaches us that the light within a person can be seen in their eye’s and this is so true as I’ve passed through this life I have seen such a brightness within the eye’s of a believer, and sadly a darkness in the eye’s of a person who is prone to lies and deceit! (Matthew 6:22,23) The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness! (Psalm 19:8).
Before any one of us came to the Lord we were known as children of darkness, but as believers we have now become known as the children of light (Ephesians 5:8-14) For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
