ANIMALS

God shows the wisdom of His animals many times in scripture

How many times have we seen a program where a dog has sensed danger and ran to seek help. I have always said that animals are guided by God and this has been proven true on different occasions throughout my life. This is something that really stands out to me and was confirmed on a show I watched yesterday. It has prompted me to write this post in case there are others wondering if animals are smart by nature or just trained?

When I worked on a dementia medical unit there was a cat who walked the halls of the facility. It was brought to my attention when the staff would say one of the patients would be passing away soon. I asked how they knew seeing God gives us the breath of life and He alone is the one who knows when our life will end. I was told when you see the cat go into someone’s room and stays laying on the bed the person usually passes away within a few days. This intrigued me since I Love animals.

It was just a few months later and this cat who normally just went around the whole place not really staying for any length of time in a certain room went and laid on a patients bed. Sure enough 2 days later the person passed away. This was not the only time…it was every time. The program I watched yesterday showed a cat in a facility and they explained the same thing, then they interviewed a Doctor who was on staff there and he was baffled as he grinned and said we physicians can’t even tell like this cat can…How does he know?!

Scripture tells us to ask the animals and they will tell us (Job 12:7-10) But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee: Or speak to the earth ,and it shall teach thee; and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee. Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the Lord hath wrought this? In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.

Many think that God named all the animals, but it is written: Adam did (Genesis 2:19) And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.

Children and adults alike when a beloved pet passes away we wonder if we’ll see them again. I truly believe we will for the guidance they showed while they were here with us and it is written of many animals that they will be in God’s Holy Mountain (His Kingdom) and they will be very tame for a child will lead them (Isaiah 11:6-9) The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like an ox. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’s den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.

So the next time you see an animal doing something amazing, just know they truly are guided by the hand of God!

Who can forget the talking donkey of Numbers 22:21-35.

  1. This was such a heartfelt and thought provoking story. It’s truly inspiring to hear about the ways animals have demonstrated remarkable instincts and behaviors that seem to transcend what we might expect from them. Your story about the cat on the dementia unit is a incredible example of how the natural world can reveal deeper truths about our existence and about our Lord.

    Thank you for sharing this.

Be Blessed and Continue to be a Blessing.

    • Thank you Willie for this beautiful caring comment. There’s the saying “Some people like animal’s more than people.” They have that unconditional love that is hard to find in the human race. 🙂

      Be Blessed Always
