“Who Is satan?”

Scriptures tells us “There was a war in Heaven:Michael and his angels fought against the dragon(satan);and the dragon fought and his angels,And prevailed not;neither was their place found any more in Heaven.And the great dragon was cast out,that old serpent,called the devil,and satan,which deceiveth the whole world:he was cast out into the earth,and his angels were cast out with him”.(Revelation 12:7-9).

This is not the end of his reign,but only the beginning! You see satan in this earth gives his best try at deceiving people out of their inheritance that God has promised to those who believe and trust in him,and on the name above all names his only Begotten Son Jesus Christ.

One of the most wonderful passages to the Believer taking the word out to many is found in the following passages when Paul who persecuted the very church he would preach about heard the voice of Jesus in a vision:

“And I said,who art thou,Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.But rise,and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose.to make thee a MINISTER and a WITNESS both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee.Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles,unto whom now I send thee,To open their eyes,and to turn them from darkness to light,and from the power of satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins,and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me”.(Acts 26:15-18).

satan thought he could ascend into heaven above God………It was his haughty thought that took him down to the pit of Hell. “How art thou fallen from Heaven,O Lucifer,son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground,which didst weaken the nations!For thou hast said in thine heart,I will ascend into Heaven,I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation,in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.Yet shall he be brought down to hell,to the sides of the pit”.(Isaiah 14:12-15).

Jesus tells us satan is a liar and the father of it. “If God were your Father,ye would Love me:for I proceeded forth and came from God;neither came I of myself,but he sent me.Ye are of your father the devil,and the lusts of your father ye will do.He was a murderer from the beginning,and abode not in the truth,because there is no truth in him.When he speaketh a lie,he speaketh of his own:for he is a liar,and the father of it”.(John 8:42,44).

We are told that Jesus sends the Holy Spirit and we will speak on his behalf for the truth.(2 Thessalonians 2:8-17).

Now that satan has been revealed remember he is in the earth as roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.(Ephesians 6:10-19).We though are not ignorant of his devices: “Lest satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices”.(2 Corinthians 2:11).

The day is coming precious Saints that satan will be bound and put into the pit, and it is the day we will all rejoice and give Glory to the one who has called us out of darkness into his marvellous light!
