A symbol of strength…………
A lion is such a stately animal it will not back away from being intimidated by anything,it definitely stands it’s ground. Is it any wonder those strong in the Lord are compared to it? “The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
(Proverbs 28:1).
satan is known as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world”.(1 Peter 5:8,9).
Those who follow after satan’s ways make them to be a beast to be reckoned with. This makes the people of God a prey, but we can be reassured our Father will not allow his children to be taken and will deliver us. “Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear; and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen”.(2 Timothy 4:17,18).
Praise God for our Lord and Saviour who is known as the Lion of the tribe of Judah. He is the only one who is able to open the book of seven seals in Revelation. “And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof”.(Revelation 5:1-5).
We all as Christians are waiting for the day that the power of the Lion will be tamed in the kingdom of God. “The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox”.(Isaiah 11:6,7).
