Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice of himself to redeem many to the Father. He who accepts the sacrifice he made for our sins will live a life that is pleasing in his eyes, for we are a spiritual house and sacrifice unto the Lord. “Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ”.
(1 Peter 2:5).
God places people in our lives to help guide us to him, we then should be aware of the good they are doing and allow them to do so with joy. “By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you”.(Hebrews 13:15-17).
There was the time when God asked for the sacrifices of animals as a way of serving and giving sacrifices to him, But now asked that our sacrifices be of ourselves after having been given the best example shown by his Son our Lord Jesus Christ! “Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened (cleansed of sin). For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us”.(1 Corinthians 5:7).
Even though the wicked do sacrifices, it is considered an abomination to our Father for their sacrifices are opposite of what he asks of us. “The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord; but the prayer of the upright is his delight. The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the Lord: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness”.
(Proverbs 15:8,9).
We do know though that there are sacrifices that are pleasing and acceptable to the Lord and it is what will bring a person to repentance. “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite (Humble) heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all”.Psalm 51:17…….34:17-19).
