“GRACE”

1

GRACE= Unmerited divine assistance given humans through sanctification, Mercy, Favor.

We are shown the true grace of God through his Son and by this grace are we saved by faith. “Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them”.(Ephesians 2:5-10).

People make things difficult if you do not do as they do, basically when one answers the call on their life to follow Christ they stand out as strangers in a strange land. There is no greater honor than to suffer for Christs sake. “Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you: Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead”.(1 Peter 4:1,2,4,5).

The grace of God is worth all a Christian endures in their life for having chosen to turn from their sinful nature unto the Living God of their soul. “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee”.(Titus 2:11-15).

Jesus was strong in Spirit and the grace of God was upon him from an early age on. “And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him. It is very parallel to the reading of Jesus forerunner John the Baptist who would preach six months before the revealing of Christs birth. “And thou,  child, shalt be called the prophet of the highest: for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways; To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins, Through the tender mercy (grace) of God; whereby the dayspring from on high visited us, To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace. And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, and was in the deserts til the day of his shewing unto Israel”.(Luke 1:76-80).

Just as from the days of old there was grace upon the children of God who did his will, from Noah,Moses,Abraham, Joshua and many others God has been faithful to his promises to man. So we have to ask ourselves: “How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him; God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will? For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak”.(Hebrews 2:3-5).
