We find although people will claim to know God, they in their actions will tell of a different belief for actions do speak louder than words. They will even not knowingly be forfeiting their salvation Christ paid the price for. “Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate”.(Titus 1:15,16).
It is written to those who are rebellious and God’s people speak his word to them it will be as a fire in our mouth and they will be as wood and be devoured! “Wherefore thus saith the Lord God of hosts, because ye speak this word, behold I will make my words in thy mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them. Fear ye not me? saith the Lord: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it? But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone”.(Jeremiah 5:14,22,23). God expects us to do justly and do righteous judgement, or he needs to avenge such a people.”They are waxen fat, they shine: yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the needy do they not judge. Shall I not visit for these things? saith the Lord: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?”.(Jeremiah 5:28,29).
Saul was anointed to be king over Israel by Samuel only to lie to him and say he did as the Lord had asked him to do which was to smite King Agag and Amalek along with men, women, children and animals. Instead he destroyed all the people, but saved the king alive along with the choicest animals. This cost him his place as being king over Israel. He was then reprimanded strongly by Samuel: “And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king”.(1 Samuel 15:22,23).
Ever meet people who are so set on doing wrong as you see that no matter what they set their hand to do it just does not work out for them. It seldom will either for to be outside of the will of God is to miss out on the many blessings he has for living for him. “An evil man seeketh only rebellion: therefore a cruel messenger shall be sent against him. Whoso rewardeth evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house”.(Proverbs 17:11,13).
The bible says we will know them by the fruits that they bear. This is so true.
