As we live our lives there is so much to praise and thank God for! The life of those who love God a lot of times are misunderstood if something goes wrong they are not overtaken for the faith they have keeps them strong, while others fold at the slightest mishap. Nothing sounds more opposite a situation than to sing praises when in a most trying time, yet many a christian has done just that throughout the ages. “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him”.(Job 13:15). WHAT???? praising even if being slain? YES! This statement alone makes no sense, yet it makes perfect sense to God as he has given man free will and for anyone to choose to serve him no matter what they endure shows the Father we really do love him as much as he loves us! Job sure lived a life impossible and was so set on serving God he received more in the end of his life than the beginning. “So the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses”.(Job 42:12).
Another excellent example of men who loved God was Paul and Sila who knew first hand what it meant to be in a dire situation and still love the Lord no matter what as they were in prison and at midnight sang praises unto God! This kind of love for God is so misunderstood, but Paul and Silas knew the power of the God they served. “And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed. And the keeper of the prison awakening out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors opened, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled. But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here. Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, And brought them out, and said, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house”.(Acts 16:25-31).
As we put our full trust in God he will see to it that we are protected from any adverse enemy of our soul, for we are his and he will keep us for his purpose in the earth! The people of God are a peculiar people as they praise God no matter what happens in good times and in bad. We are a people who have been called out of darkness and all the wickedness this world encompasses, and for that we sing praise unto the Lord! “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy”.(1 Peter 2:9,10).
“LET THE WORD OF CHRIST DWELL IN YOU RICHLY IN ALL WISDOM; TEACHING AND ADMONISHING ONE ANOTHER IN PSALMS AND HYMNS AND SPIRITUAL SONGS, SINGING WITH GRACE IN YOUR HEARTS TO THE LORD. aND WHATSOEVER YE DO IN WORD OR DEED, DO ALL IN THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS, GIVING THANKS TO GOD AND THE FATHER BY HIM”.(COLOSSIANS 3:16,17).
