It is written life and death are in the power of the tongue, and this teaches us that by the way we live and speak can destine us for either heaven or hell. So many live their life as though once they die this life was all there is. Nothing could be further from the truth.
What would be the purpose of our life if we live for a time then die. Scriptur gives us a clear answer of the purpose of man! As christians we do not live for self as the world does, but our life is lived for the one who died for us with the promise of eternal life. ( Philippians 1:20-27 ).
We can choose to live our life void of God, but the consequence of such a decision would cause us to forfeit eternity. ( Proverbs 11:17-21 ). 17 The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh. 18 The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward. 19 As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death.
20 They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the Lord: but such as are upright in their way are his delight. 21 Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
1 John 5:11-13
11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
