We live in a world where fences go up and divides neighbor’s. One will speak peace to their neighbor, but in his heart plans to lay a snare for the one they claim to like. Praise God that in His city their will be no divisions among the people and all will be in peace and one accord! (Jeremiah 9:8,9) Their tongue is as an arrow shot out; it speaketh deceit: one speaketh peaceably to his neighbor with his mouth, but in heart he layeth his wait. Shall I not visit them for these things? saith the Lord: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?.
The city which God has prepared for His people will be one not only without fences, but also without wall’s! It will have wall’s of a different sort that God has made of a different kind of fence to withhold peace. (Isaiah 26:1-3) In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah; We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks. Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Peace will abound in the Holy city of God, and there will be no need of the sun to light upon man as God Himself and Christ the Lamb will be the light and the temple of this great city unending! (Revelation 21:22-25) And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour unto it. And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
This will be a city filled only with people who love God and Christ, and will sing praises without ceasing for all eternity. (Revelation 19:5-7) And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great. And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
Those who lived and died for the faith they held for God will grace this most wonderful and beautiful city, a place of much joy, peace, without pain or tears! It will be something to behold and to see Moses, Elijah, David and many others who knew of the importance of being a servant of the most high God of all eternity. People who just like us had a faith though not seen with the naked eye, yet know through spiritual eyes all the promises of God truly do exist! We can read of others who walked in the wilderness of this life, as they were misunderstood and changed nations when moved by the Holy Spirit of God. Hebrews Chapter 11 tells of our brothers and sister’s who have gone before us and who we will one day meet.
