This is a repost that bears repeating!

When we think of Halloween what comes to mind is carved pumpkin’s, ghost’s, haunted houses, goblin’s, all things spooky, witches, and spirit’s. Many say it is just a fun time to dress up in costumes and is a candy giving occasion.  BUT IS IT?………….

When we compare what this time of year represents and what the word of God says it is pretty much black and white how scripture is light and hope for all who believe, while this holiday is of darkness and demon’s. As Christians we are known as the children of light and do not take company with the darkness of this world, which we used to do before we came to the knowledge of Christ. (Ephesians 5:8-11) For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

At this time of year the talk of witches and demons are put in a light of something fun and harmless. Scripture does not take this lightly! At this time demons are spoken of as though they are fictional and fun, yet Jesus (Yashua) took them very seriously as He cast them out of the people many times! (Mark 5:1-20) Even today many churches have come on board and do trunk or treat at their buildings, and our Lord would say the same words He said so many generations ago “My house is a house of prayer” Therefore darkness will never meld with the light of Christ ever!

If we bare the name Christian why would we take part in the practice of darkness when scripture plainly teaches us we are the children of light if we are in Christ? (1 Thessalonians 5:5-9) Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ.

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. (Hosea 4:6).
